TOYOTA HYPE IN KENYA
Kenyans are literally the best people when It comes to matters of stereotypes, most typical Kenyans willing to buy a car will always have the name Toyota coming off their lips quite a lot, this isn’t really a problem but in my opinion other brands this day have also established reliability and proven they can stand the test of time like Toyota s have and will keep doing.I am not a hater of Toyota s but at times it bugs me when someone tells you to get them a car and their only condition is it be a Toyota and if you ask why they never seem to have a reason why “it a Toyota” they say, I respect Toyota s resilience but so have I gained the same for other cars. Buying a car these days has become more a matter of the heart than just getting a machine to help you get from point a to b that’s why looks, gadgets, technology and many more factors should be the main concern.
Maintenance is another reason people give and I find it more of a consolation because in this age and time spare parts for the common cars regardless of the brand and models even the very high end ones are extremely available if you know where to check.
Long gone are the days when this were valid reasons , my sole piece of advice is for people to follow their hearts yes but not due to convictions of others it doesn’t hurt trying out something different and keep buying Toyota s but make a difference by having a reason why you chose that over another its more satisfying that way ,trust me.
This is backed up by statistics from some major car importing companies , showing the most popular cars in kenya as per now ...not surprised that of the top 5 three are Toyota s regardless of all the models available
